The Pelagos – Seafront Accommodation, located in “Melitsahas / Myrties” area of the beautiful island of Kalymnos Greece, on the south eastern corner of the Aegean.

The apartments are built on a magical location overlooking the little port of Melitsahas on the northwestern side of Kalymnos (the island of sponge divers).

All apartments are with amazing view to the bay, formed by the villages of Myrties, Massouri, Skalia, Emporios on the main island of Kalymnos and the picturesque island of Telendos.

Sponge-diving is the oldest profession of Kalymnos and the main source of sponges in the Aegean, sponges have been mentioned as far back as the eighth century BC, in Homer’s book, The Iliad, Hephaestus washes himself with a sea sponge and in The Odyssey, sponges are used to wipe down tables after eating.

Other uses of sea sponges were as padding for helmets, drinking vessels, water filters and contraceptives.
